Dance
At Framingham Earl we aim to develop young people’s ability to perform, choreograph and appreciate dances.
At Key Stage 3, Dance is delivered through the Physical Education curriculum. Students will have the opportunity to create phrases based upon different professional works or specially selected themes to suit their interests. Dance clubs run throughout the year and primarily focus on work towards the annual Dance Show. There are numerous opportunities for students to watch live performances at local theatres.
At Key Stage 4, students may select GCSE Dance as an additional option. The course runs during Core PE time. We follow the AQA exam specification. The course is split into 30% Performance which consists of Set Phrases (solo) and a Duet/Trio, 30% Choreography task and 40% Theory Paper (including an Anthology of 6 Professional Works).
