Computer Science
Computer Science is a subject becoming ever more important in our digital world. We have developed a curriculum that builds the key components of what a Computer Science student should have.
The key skills (problem-solving, decomposition and evaluation) are being developed in a wide range of activities during the 5-year scheme of work. We recognise the need to enable students for the job market, so have some units that develop their IT skills as well. E-safety is also of paramount concern, so students take an online course in Year 7 and then revisit this in Year 9.
We hope that you find our curriculum is balanced and gives students the confidence to choose it as an option at Key Stage 4. We pride ourselves on offering this balance, allowing students to develop skills that will help in most jobs that use IT as well as a bridge to Computer Science careers.
